Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Precision Hope ("Precision Hope," "we," "us") collects, how we use and protect it, the limited circumstances in which it may be shared, and the choices and rights you have. We've written it in plain English because you deserve to understand exactly what happens to your family's information.
By creating an account and using Precision Hope, you agree to this Policy together with our Terms of Service.
1. Who This Applies To
Precision Hope is intended for use by parents, guardians, and adult caregivers (18 or older) who are managing medical information on behalf of a patient, often a child. Accounts are created and controlled by an adult. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the service:
- Account information — your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Patient profile — the display name, birth year, and diagnosis you enter for the person you are tracking.
- Uploaded lab files and images — PDFs, photos, or documents you upload for the AI to read.
- Extracted and AI-generated content — lab values extracted from your uploads, plain-language explanations, suggested questions, and chat responses, stored so you can revisit them.
- Chat messages — questions and follow-ups you type in the conversation.
- Consent records — the date and version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you agreed to.
- Limited technical data — a session cookie to keep you logged in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and request times) used for security and to keep the service running.
We do not collect payment information (there is no paid tier at this time), advertising identifiers, or precise location data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to provide and protect the service for your family:
- To run the AI features that read your labs, explain them, generate questions for your doctor, and answer your chat questions.
- To store your results and conversations so you can return to them and see trends over time.
- To keep you signed in, secure your account, and prevent abuse.
- To send you essential account-related messages, if any.
We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating Precision Hope for you.
4. Third-Party AI Processing
Important: When you upload lab files or images, and when you send chat messages or generate explanations or questions, that content is transmitted to trusted third-party AI providers to power those features. This means your uploaded documents and messages leave our server and are processed by those providers' systems.
Data submitted to these providers is handled under their own terms and privacy policies. We send only the content needed to perform the requested feature; we do not send your email address or account identifiers as part of that content. If our set of providers changes, this Policy continues to apply and we will keep the disclosure here current.
5. Optional Sharing to Help Other Families
If — and only if — you opt in:
- What is shared: de-identified clinical data points — diagnosis and lab values (for example, a test code and number with its date). This data is linked only by a one-way code, not by your name or account.
- What is never shared: your name, your child's name, your email, contact details, uploaded files, or any direct identifier. No information that could identify your child is included.
- How it is used: only to produce anonymous aggregate insights across many families (for example, which questions or markers are commonly relevant for a given diagnosis). Aggregate insights are surfaced only when enough families have contributed that no individual could be re-identified. Other families never see your child's individual records.
- Withdrawal: you can opt out at any time, and your contributed data is removed. Deleting your account also removes any data you contributed.
If you never opt in, none of your family's data is ever placed in this shared pool.
6. What We Do NOT Do
- We never sell your data — to anyone, for any purpose.
- We never share data that identifies you or your child with other families, advertisers, data brokers, or marketers.
- We do not use your data to train advertising or unrelated models of our own.
- The only sharing that ever occurs is the optional, de-identified, aggregate contribution described in Section 5 — and only if you turn it on.
7. Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Precision Hope's own server, associated privately with your account. We use access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and per-account isolation so that one family cannot access another's data. No system is perfectly secure; we take reasonable measures and ask that you upload only what you need.
8. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active so the service works for you. When you delete your account (Section 10), your data is removed promptly. De-identified data you contributed under Section 5 is removed when you withdraw or delete your account. Routine server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.
9. Children's Data
Precision Hope exists to help adults navigate medical information for a patient who is often a child. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent, guardian, or adult caregiver. We collect children's health-related information only as you provide it for that purpose, store it privately in your account, and treat it as sensitive. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. If you believe a child has created an account or that a child's data has been handled incorrectly, contact us at [email protected] and we will address it promptly.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You are in control of your family's data. You can:
- Access and review everything in your account directly in the app.
- Correct profile details and confirm or fix extracted lab values.
- Opt in or out of the de-identified sharing in Section 5 at any time.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. This permanently removes your profile, uploaded files, extracted and AI-generated content, chat history, and any contributed de-identified data. This cannot be undone.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA; we honor deletion and access requests regardless of location.
11. Cookies and Sessions
We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you securely logged in. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.
12. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, ask you to review and re-consent. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
